Q-assia, the Natural Ally for your Digestion (Quassia amara)

Quassia amara has been used in Europe since the XVIII Century as an appetizer, a diuretic, and against dyspepsia. It is part of a list of plants included in the French Pharmacopea.Having always been extracted from the tropical forests without any concern for its regeneration and survival, Quassia amara is now cultivated in situ respecting the environmental conditions of the Costa Rican Caribbean humid tropical forest.Quassina is the most important active ingredient of Quassia amara, and it accounts for at least 60% of the quassinoides (bitter taste) present in the bark

Quassina stimulates the muscular fibers of the digestic tube and the excretive bile canal. It also activates the normal secretion of the mucus. The bark of the plant has the highest levels of quassina in the Simaroubaceae family and other bitter plants
